Kintech Lab won the 3rd place in the competition of projects in the field of high-capacity computations “Maximum scalability”. Prize was taken by Alexey V. Deinega from "Kintech Lab" who presented a project “Application of high-power computing systems for various optical applications”.

The 1st place won Vladimir E. Bochenkov (Chemical dept. of the Moscow State University) with the project “Development and implementation of parallel algorithm of temperature-accelerated dynamics”, the 2nd place won Andrew V. Gorobets (Institute for Mathematical Modeling of RAS (Moscow)) with the project “Simulation of the problems of gas dynamics and aero acoustics using modern high-power computing systems”.

Annual competition held by Intel and RUSNANO with the support of Supercomputer program “SKIF” and Supercomputer consortium of Russian Universities was expected to disclose the most advanced works related to application of supercomputer potential. This year, 41 projects of R&D, commercial, management and other fields were applied for consideration. The main objective of the competition was to reveal the methods of applying high-capacity computations to various scientific and industrial fields. Criteria for selecting the winners comprise the original character of proposed idea, complicated nature of application, demand for it and, surely, scalability of computations, that, the possibility to up capacity on creasing supercomputer power. This year the Competition commission was comprises of the leading experts in the field of high-performance computing application to various scientific and engineering fields.
