Electron transport properties in solids

The conductivity and resistance of the solid state are determined by the characteristics of electron scattering and trapping on the lattice irregularities. First-principles calculations can give information necessary in calculations of the properties of scattering and trapping processes. Based on this information, Kintech Lab experts can estimate the following transport parameters and many other parameters:

  • charge carrier scattering cross-sections and scattering rates
  • diffusion coefficients and the mobility of charge carriers
  • thermopower coefficients
  • self-trapped exciton and charge carrier migration barrier
  • lifetimes of excitons
