Adsorption properties of solid surfaces

Many types of devices based on solid compounds work under the conditions of the direct contact with substances from the environment. In some cases, the interaction with such substances is necessary as part of the working process (for example, in gas sensors), while in other cases, the interaction is harmful and undesirable. In both cases, one should know the adsorption and desorption rates of different molecules on the solid surface. First-principles methods used in Kintech Lab offer the possibility of calculating adsorption and desorption parameters and surface coverage from the data on the chemical composition of interacting compounds.
